I watched a great documentary on BBC2 last night about MND. It was called 'MND and 22 year old me.'
It was very interesting and extremely touching. Such a shame. A very pretty girl cut down in her prime. So sad!!!
What struck me as very strange was that it didn't seem like she was actually bothering to do anything that may help her. Yes there's no cure but there's a ton of people out there that have managed to slow it's progression down at least. I'm personally fighting this tooth and nail!!! There is no acceptance for me!!!
Maybe she is doing stuff and they didn't bother showing it. Which would be a shame. She's got to hang in there because an excellent treatment or cure might be just around the corner.
I've started down the road of getting my amalgam fillings removed. It's not the most pleasant thing in the world, nor is it cheap. But I suppose it's one of those things that must be done.
There are numerous bits of research for and against the toxicity of amalgam fillings but the thing is, I'm not risking keeping them in. If there's even the slightest chance it'll do me good then I'm taking it.
I've also had my voice recorded at the Astley Ainsley hospital. It goes in to a voice bank so it can be used for people with a similar sounding accent to me. Very clever and very useful.
A couple of days ago I started taking tablespoons of coconut oil. I've written about the benefits of coconut oil before. It has shown good promise on slowing down, halting and even reversing ALS/MND. It's also done the same for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. The magic number appears to be 9 tablespoons. Yesterday I managed 8. Again, if there's a chance that this'll do me good, I'm taking it.
I'm also getting coconut oil massaged into my muscles twice per day. Coconut oil can get right into the cells of the mitochondria apparently. Everything I've read about it sounds promising.
A new kid on the block is a supplement called Lunasin. There has been documented reports of this supplement halting and reversing symptoms. I'm on that too.
I'm also hitting the cbd oil quite hard too. It's the legal stuff you can buy from Amazon. The company I always buy from is Canabidol. They seem to be a very good brand with a high quality product. Not the cheapest though.
So as you can see the fight continues.
I can raise my left arm slightly higher than last week so something is working. I'm trying to cover all bases.
Onwards and upwards. 😊
